Zayda Literacy Fund

Zayda (babybibliophile) has a following of 3,400 people on social media who, like her, love books. At 12 years old, she is an entrepreneur creating her own shirt designs and prints at popup shops and on, she is a Rep for the monthly book subscription OwlCrate Jr., and she is an advocate for children’s literacy.

Zayda hopes to share her love of books with youth who may not have the same access to the fantastic world of literature. She continuously conducts book drives for the Children’s Foundation of America and is on a mission to raise funds to encourage a passion for literacy among youth in need through the Zayda Literacy Fund for the Children’s Foundation of America.

Foster youth at Trinity Youth Services under the age of 18 may apply for a $300 scholarship and prize gift package, which of course includes books! To enter, candidates are asked to submit an application and a book report. Zayda, herself, will pick the top five contenders and the board of trustees will approve up to three each spring. Applications are provided to foster youth through Trinity Youth Services’ program each spring.

Donations may be made to the Zayda Literacy Fund at and designate “Zayda Literacy Fund” or mail a check payable to Children’s Foundation of America to P.O. Box 1210, Claremont, CA 91711 and specify “Zayda Literacy Fund” in the memo.

Keep an eye out on Zayda’s Etsy page for a special shirt designed specifically to raise funds for the literacy fund.
